You know, in some ways I think this may be the time that MS finally bites off more than they can chew. In the end, this will be worse for MS than anyone else. They may never recover from it. MS has already acknowledged that they will need to go into debt for this deal.
What they can't seem to ever acknowledge is the wants and needs of their customers. The financial burden will be great, but the damage to their already poor reputation will be worse. I suspect that if it goes through, the vast majority of Yahoo-ers will switch to Google just like they switched to Yahoo when MS bought Hotmail. In the end all they will have accomplished is to make Google bigger and their value smaller.

Yes, I was one of the "crazy ones" who joined the throngs of people who lined up for an iPhone on June 29th. I had a great time as you can see from my live blogging of the event. All-in-all I have no regrets and I am unbelievably happy with my iPhone. It is quite possibly the most amazing piece of technology I have ever laid my hands on. This device is truly revolutionary. On par with the original Mac and TiVo.
But enough gushing. The web is overflowing with fanboy positivity for the iPhone and I'm sure you don't need me to tell you how this thing is the second-coming of Christ. Because frankly it is not really "all that." I do have some quibbles and I'm not talking about the keyboard or the EDGE network. Many people have complained about those but I don't really have a problem with them. My complaints lie elsewhere. So without further ado here is my list of top 10 annoyances. |

I was enlightened yesterday by these wise words wrapped in a tasty cookie. But in the interest of equal time, here is the dissenting opinion.
Update: The old link is dead. Here is a new one.

The writing is on the wall for old methods of media content delivery. The new site FunnyOrDie.com is spreading like the flu in a kindergarten classroom: everybody is catching it. You can't ignore a site that combines the openness of YouTube, the community refinement of Digg, topped off with big names like Will Ferrell. Just slap on some RSS feeds and pair it with an Apple TV and you may find me canceling my DirecTV subscription. These new players on the internet are just the tip of the iceberg. Delivering media content to the masses has become so inexpensive and simple that anyone can do it. Expect to see more sites like these now that the barriers of entry — cable/satellite companies, television networks, record labels, MSM, radio stations, major movie studios — have all been knocked down.
